The Ottawa Senators once again received a strong offensive contribution from right winger Bobby Ryan of Cherry Hill, New Jersey on Wednesday. Ryan was one of five Senators players to record a multi-point game as the Senators hammered the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-1 to take a two games to one series lead in the Eastern Conference Final of the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Ryan notched two assists in the four goal Senators victory at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. His first assist came on the game winning goal by defenseman Marc Methot at 10:34 of the first period which put the Senators up 2-0 at the time. Ryan then recorded his second assist on a goal by Derick Brassard at 12:28 of the first period which put the Senators up 3-0.
The other Senators players to have a multi-point game were Methot, Brassard, Mike Hoffman and Kyle Turris who each had a goal and an assist. Ottawa's other goal scorer was Zack Smith.
Ryan now has five goals and eight assists for 13 points in 15 playoff games. In the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Ryan is the co-leader for the Senators in playoff power play goals with two (tied with Clarke MacArthur) and is the co-leader for the Senators in playoff power play points with four (tied with Brassard).
