Brad Paisley will host a special benefit concert at the Santa Barbara Bowl in Santa Barbara, Calif. on Saturday, May 12 to honor first responders who risked their lives to save others during the wildfires and mudslides that recently wreaked havoc in families, homes and communities in Southern California. Emmy-winning talk show host Ellen DeGeneres will join Paisley and friends as a special guest. Tickets go on sale via AXS on Saturday, March 24 at 12:00 p.m.
The show is being called “The 2nd Responders; A Benefit for the Community” and the Grammy-winning country superstar will unite friends, community members and first responders to celebrate recovery efforts in the wake of the devastating disasters in Montecito and the Santa Barbara area. Many residents lost their homes and loved ones in the horrific fires and subsequent mudslides that left the areas ravaged.
Paisley spoke of he and his wife Kimberly Williams Paisley’s love for the community in a statement about the benefit show. “Kim and I fell in love with Santa Barbara and the Montecito area on our honeymoon. It feels like small town America by the sea,” said Paisley. “With this concert I hope to raise awareness, spirits and money for the region that’s recovering from the devastating mudslides and fires. I hope people come out and actually make it an experience with us and visit some of the local shops, restaurants, bars and coffee shops.”
The "Today" singer will take a break from his extended Weekend Warrior World Tour which supports his most recent chart-topping album, Love and War, to do this live benefit show. While great strides have been made to revitalize the region, recovery efforts are still ongoing. Concert proceeds will benefit the community and service members through local organizations. An online ticket presale for locals (which is restricted by billing zip codes in Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo counties) will begin on Friday, March 23 from noon – 10 p.m. Proof of residency is required. Public onsale will start on Saturday, March 24 at 12:00. Ticket prices are range from $49.50 to $199.50. The May 12 show starts at 7 p.m. PT. (Click here to purchase tickets.)
