Britney Spears' iconic outfits being auctioned on eBay

If you’ve ever wanted to own the outfit Britney Spears wore at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards for her performance of "I'm a Slave 4 U" (snake not included), now is your chance. As Billboard reported, seven of Spears’ most iconic outfits are up for auction on eBay. But you had better be ready to drop some serious dough. The collection—which also contains the costumes Spears wore in her “I’m a Slave 4 U” video and her “Me Against the Music" video featuring Madonna—is predicted to go for around $100,000.

While $100,000 may seem like a lot to pay for seven outfits, the owner of the Spears collection, to give a little context, noted that the dress that Marilyn Monroe wore when she sang “Happy Birthday” to John F. Kennedy sold for $4.8 million. The owner also said she has been collecting the Spears outfits since Britney herself started putting them up for auction in 2003.
