BTS join a select group of artists as they score their second Billboard 200 chart-topping album in less than one year with Love Yourself: Answer. As Billboard reports, the album moved 185,000 units in its first week of release. The new No. 1 rank marks the K-pop band’s second Billboard 200 chart-topper in 2018, following Love Yourself: Tear, which was released in May 2018.

This is an incredible feat on multiple levels, considering BTS scored two Billboard 200 No. 1s in the same year, just three months apart. This makes BTS the first pop act to score two No. 1s in less than 12 months since One Direction pulled it off in 2014 with their chart-topper Midnight Memories grabbing Billboard 200’s top spot in 2013 on Dec. 14 followed by topping the chart on Dec. 6, 2014 with Four.

Genre aside, Logic is the last artist before BTS to top the chart with two projects in less than 12 months with Bobby Tarantino II making a Billboard 200 debut on March 24, 2018, following Everybody’s chart-topping feat on May 27, 2017. The only artist to beat all these groups with lightning-quick back-to-back double chart-toppers is Future, and he did it in 2017. The Grammy-nominated rapper’s self-titled debut album arrived at No. 1 on March 11 and it was followed by another chart-topping debut just a week later with HNDRXX snagging the No. 1 spot on March 18.

Love Yourself: Answer is the third album in BTS’ Love Yourself trilogy. Love Yourself: Tear topped multiple Billboard charts, including the Billboard 200, U.S. Independent Albums and U.S. World Albums charts. It also topped charts in Japan and BTS’ native South Korean chart. Love Yourself: Answer has notably topped Billboard’s Canadian Albums chart, the South Korean chart and has cracked the Official Chart Company’s UK Albums chart Top 20, hitting No. 14.

BTS’ latest chart-topping coup follows several other achievements in the wake of Love Yourself: Answer’s Aug. 24. The music video for the lead single “Idol” is the fastest to exceed 100 million YouTube views and scored the biggest 24-hour debut in YouTube history. BTS is also the first K-pop band to enter the UK Top 40 Singles Chart with “Idol.”

BTS has amassed a large and loyal international ARMY fan base since they blasted onto the international music scene in 2013. The two-time Billboard Music Award Top Social Artist recipients share the mad reciprocal love with their fans on Twitter, also snagging a Guinness World Record for Most Twitter Engagements. The band arguably proves that music transcends language barriers, as their albums are mostly non-English. BTS also express love for their country with many Korean national references in the “Idol” music video.

Fans can watch BTS perform live on the Love Yourself World Tour. They’re stopping in Los Angeles, California to perform at the STAPLES Center tonight (Sept. 5) (Tickets) and three more non-consecutive nights on Sept. 6. (Tickets), Sept. 8 (Tickets), and Sept. 9 (Tickets).
