Car Seat Headrest and Smash Mouth have shared covers of each other's’ songs. According to Pitchfork, this fascinating relationship blossomed on Twitter in 2016 when Smash Mouth complimented Car Seat Headrest’s “Drunk Drivers/Killer Whales.” Will Toledo’s Car Seat Headrest tackled Smash Mouth’s “Fallen Horses” from 1999’s Astro Lounge while Smash Mouth paid tribute to CSH with “Something Soon” from 2015’s Teens of Style

You can listen to Car Seat Headrest’s rendition of “Fallen Horses” below or check out the original above.

Both bands have recently released re-recorded albums. Car Seat Headrest put out a retooled reissue of Will Toledo’s 2011 self-released cult classic album Twin Fantasy. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of their 1997 debut album, Fush Yu Mang, Smash Mouth rerecorded a stripped down version of the record.

Car Seat Headrest comes to Denver’s Gothic Theatre on July 28. Follow this link to find tickets on AXS.
