Carnival Cruise Line has announced that the next performance in their Carnival LIVE concert series will feature pop star Carly Rae Jepsen and take place aboard the Carnival Splendor on Feb. 18, 2018. The Splendor will be sailing from Long Beach, CA Feb. 17 on a seven-day cruise to the Mexican Riviera where the ship will call at Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas, where a two-day stay is scheduled.

Through the Carnival Cruise Line publicist, Jepsen issued a statement anticipating her very first performance on the high seas. “While I’ve performed all over the world and on Broadway, I’ve never performed on a cruise ship before and I’m really looking forward to a night with my fans in what promises to be a unique venue for an incredible night,” said Jepsen. The show will be a first of sorts for the Carnival LIVE concert series too; the show will be free and accessible to all passengers aboard the ship. Previously in order to see a Carnival LIVE show passengers have had to purchase a separate concert ticket once their cruise was booked.

The Carnival LIVE concert series has featured an impressive roster of big-name performers in the past, including classic rock acts like Journey, Styx, Heart, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, Kansas, Boston, 38 Special and Chicago. Country stars Tim McGraw, Lady Antebellum, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, Trace Adkins and Little Big Town and Sam Hunt have also appeared, as have luminaries like Smokey Robinson, Jewel, Gavin DeGraw, Nick Jonas and Olivia Newton-John. Occasionally Carnival LIVE presents top-notch comedy acts, with Jay Leno, Chris Tucker, Jim Gaffigan and Jeff Foxworthy among them. Other acts who’ll perform in the Carnival LIVE concert series in 2018 will be announced shortly.

Jepsen will be the opening act for a month of shows on the Katy Perry tour beginning in early January; her performance aboard the Carnival Splendor will take place about two weeks after she wraps up her duties with Perry. Jepsen’s latest album is Cut to the Feeling, the title cut of which has received many year-end accolades as being one of the best singles of 2017.
