Country superstar Carrie Underwood showed her unconditional faith during a surprise performance at this year's Passion conference earlier this week. Underneath Atlanta's esteemed Georgia Dome, the singer first joined Christian folktronica musician David Crowder for a performance of his 2015 hit "Lift Your Head Weary Sinner" (off his Neon Steeple album) and then took a moment to perform her own baptismal-soaked country hit "Something in the Water," a cut from Underwood's Greatest Hits: Decade #1 compilation.
"What an incredible night @passion268! Thanks for letting me be a small part of it! & thanks @crowdermusic for letting me crash your set!" Underwood tweeted following her performance. She later posted a performance snapshot to Instagram, with a caption reading: "Oh, just hanging out with @crowdermusic at #passion2017 ! So much energy in the room tonight! Thanks for letting me be a part of it! These folks are changing the world!"
The Passion series was founded in 1995 and unites college students from all across the world in music and worship. Upwards of 50,000 people were expected to attend this year's conference, which wraps tonight (Jan. 4).
Passion 2017 also boasted performances and appearances from Chris Tomlin, Christine Caine, Beth Moore, Matt Redman, John Piper, Levi Lusko, Hillsong United, Francis Chan, Christy Nockels, Jimi Cravity and Katherine & Jay Wolf.
