AXS TV is serving up a special three-day salute to Cher which kicks off tonight, Aug. 10, with her Oscar-winning performance in “Moonstruck,” which airs at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT. The global superstar will also be honored with an in-depth profile of her iconic career on Aug. 23 in “Rock Legends. Then you can watch her critically-acclaimed comedic performance opposite Winona Ryder in “Mermaids” on Aug. 24.

Cher established herself as a multi-talented performer with her zany sketch work in her breakthrough TV variety series “The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour” in the ‘70s. She went on to star on Broadway and earned widespread critical acclaim in two very serious dramatic film roles in “Silkwood” (1983) and “Mask” (1985). She returned to her bumbling, comedic roots in the 1987 film “Moonstruck” as Loretta Castorini, an unforgettable Italian widow who gets into a very sticky situation as she falls in love with her fiancée’s brother, played by Nicolas Cage. The role earned the “Turn Back Time” singer an Academy Award for Best Actress. Fans and critics alike will never forget her heartfelt Oscar acceptance speech. Watch her stunning performance tonight at 9 p.m. ET.

On Wednesday, Aug. 23 “Rock Legends” will explore Cher’s prolific career via archival footage, interviews, and performances. The in-depth profile will examine the “Goddess of Pop’s” rise to global fame, from her tumultuous teen years in which she dropped out of school to pursue her entertainment dreams to her life-changing meeting with Sonny Bono and beyond. The episode airs at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT.

Finally, the three-day Cher-fest will close on Aug. 24 with Cher’s riveting portrayal as a single mom to two young daughters (played by Winona Ryder and Christina Ricci) in the 1990 dramedy “Mermaids.” Cher brings wisdom, vulnerability and wit to this role and single moms everywhere can easily relate to this touching family trio’s emotional struggles and victories.

Tune into AXS TV tonight at 9 p.m. ET to catch the launch of the three-day Cher event with  “Moonstruck” and stay tuned to AXS for Cher information and updates.
