CatCon 2017 brings furry cuteness to Pasadena Convention Center this weekend
The Pet Collective

You may not know it, but there is an entire convention dedicated to all things kittens, cats and glorious cuteness, and it's coming to the Pasadena Convention Center this weekend, Aug. 12-13. This weekend, CatCon 2017 will invade the City of Roses with an army of cute kittens and furry cats, and no one will be able to resist.

Sponsored by Rachael Ray and featuring some of the most beloved cats on social media, this convention will feature speakers, workshops, over 100 exhibitors and even the original Catwoman herself, Julie Newmar.

That's great and all, but you may be wondering about that furry goodness at the cat convention. Lil Bub will be there for a meet and greet, as well as Nala and White Coffee. Oskar the Blind Cat will also be on paw to meet fans. Along with the "meet and greets,"  there will be a very special Cat Video Festival Movie presentation on Saturday at 3 p.m.

In addition to meet and greets, seminars and exhibitors, CatCon 2017 will also feature a special adoption event with a 4,000 square foot adoption lounge. This event is facilitated with the help of the Pasadena Humane Society and SPCA. Cats and kittens of all ages will be on paw at the adoption lounge for eager attendees to interact with and adopt for a special, reduced rate adoption fee specially arranged for CatCon 2017. So if you've ever wanted to take a cute kitten home with you or save a cat, now is your opportunity.

This convention will feature all things kittens, cats and cuteness for all you feline lovers out there. Come hear the stories of these special cats and how many of them became Instagram-famous and social media (kitten-)powerhouses.

And don't forget: As you come to enjoy the convention with "cattitude," leave your own cats at home for the day. For their own safety, CatCon does not allow attendees to bring their cats along with them. Give them a break from all of your petting, scratching and nudging. Let them enjoy a day of knocking things off the table over and over again, as well as lounging around on the desk at home while you find them the newest and brightest toys to play with at the trade show.

Although you may be leaving them at home and giving them a break from all that love you send their way, this doesn't mean you can't come with your smart phones and share all of your Instagram-worthy pics of your future kitty-stars with all who will take a moment to see. You never know, maybe the next Mr. Brimley the Cat or Ms. Chloe Catdashian are purring to be discovered.

If you want to be a part of the "convention with cattitude," grab your tickets to CatCon 2017 now. Tickets are still available for purchase here for this weekend's CatCon at the Pasadena Convention Center.
