Chance the Rapper's "Come Back, Barack" gets Emmy nomination

The Emmy nominations hit this week for the best in television over the last year and Chance the Rapper picked up a nomination for himself. The nomination was for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Music and Lyrics and the song was "Come Back Barack."

The song was performed by Chance the Rapper during a sketch on Saturday Night Live in November 2017. When it comes to the competition, Steve Martin has a song called "The Buddy Song" from his Netflix special and there is also music from the Netflix series Big Mouth.

This is the second year in a row that Chance the Rapper picked up an Emmy nomination. He also nabbed a nomination last year for another song about President Obama titled "Jingle Barack." He co-wrote both songs and hopes to walk out this year at the Emmys with the award, after losing in 2017 to Common's "Letter to the Free" from a documentary called 13th.

The sketch itself is familiar to anyone who has watched Saturday Night Live for the last decade as it is an original song and video similar to what Andy Samberg's Lonely Island would do -- both with and without Justin Timberlake by their side.
