"Boys" is the second single from Charli XCX's upcoming third studio album. It follows last year's "After the Afterparty" with Lil Yachty. Her computerized pop takes a dreamy turn on "Boys." Ms. XCX finds herself so preoccupied with boys that everything else takes a backseat. She shuffles through them like cards, singing, "In every city I've got one with different ringtones / Flyin' from L.A. all the way to Puerto Rico." Charli's ode to boys is an irresistible bop.
Charli XCX co-directed the "Boys" music video with Sarah McColgan. The ladies most likely had a blast recruiting the impressive cast that they got for the colorful clip. Instead of starring in her own video, Ms. XCX filmed famous dudes like Joe Jonas, Bastille's Dan Smith, Wiz Khalifa, G-Eazy, Mark Ronson, Diplo, Charlie Puth and many, many others partaking in adorable activities like weight lifting puppies and washing a car. She flips the script on pin-ups with this diverse group of heartthrobs.
"Boys" is now available on iTunes and Apple Music. No word yet on when to expect Charli XCX's follow-up to 2014's Sucker album.
