Chris Young has added a Las Vegas concert to his 2019 tour. The "Hangin' On" singer will visit MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday, Aug. 17 and fans can get tickets to this newly announced show now here on AXS.
Young is touring the world this year, with a number of European shows before starting the U.S. leg of his tour in mid-May. The Raised On Country Tour takes its name from the single he released last month, as he's continuing to work on his seventh album. The two-time Grammy Award nominee has been steadily building up his profile, having been inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2017.
He's come a long way since winning the singing competition "Nashville Star" in May 2006. It's been almost 13 years, and the Tennessee native has gotten two Gold records and two Platinum records from the Recording Industry Association of America.
Songs like "Hangin' On" and "Raised On Country" make clear why Young can draw in country music fans all over the world. He's able to perform a vulnerable song about a spontaneous attraction that would hold its own with any mainstream love songs, and then shift gears to record something that's much more like traditional country and pays respect to many of the people who made his genre possible.
He seems to have found the sweet spot between pop-country and classic country, and when he comes to Las Vegas, he's going to appeal to anyone who enjoys either sound. And with a new album in the works, this new concert could provide audiences a sneak peek at the next music he has coming their way.
