Chris Young has added a new number one song to his list of chart toppers. The Boot shared the news that Young has claimed the number one position with "I'm Comin' Over." Young already received a Gold Record status for the song by selling over 500,000 copies of the single. Young found out about the good news while he was getting ready to perform the song on “Today.” Matt Lauer was the lucky guy who got to surprise Young with the big news.
Young was appearing on “Today” to spread the news about his new album also titled I’m Comin’ Over being released. Young’s latest album is his fifth release following his earlier album’s titled Chris Young, The Man I Want to Be, Neon and A.M. which was his last album released in 2013. Young’s new number one single joins his list of songs that also made it to the top spot which include “The Man I Want to Be,” "Voices," "Gettin' You Home (The Black Dress Song),” "Tomorrow" and "You."
Young got to work on creating his latest album by writing or co-writing nine of the songs and also had Young co-producing the album with Corey Crowder which was a first for him. Young’s new album is made up of 11 tracks and has him teaming up with Vince Gill in on "Sober Saturday Night" and "Think of You" brings Young and Cassadee Pope together. Pope and Young have plans set to continue working together on Young’s 2016 "I'm Comin' Over" Tour.
Young shared his excitement about his new number one song by saying “I’m a numbers guy, so it’s hard for anybody to get anything over on me when it comes to the charts … but I had no idea that I would find out from Matt Lauer.” Young added “Never have I been told that I have a No. 1 song quite like this, and then for it to happen in the same week that my brand-new record released, it was absolutely amazing!”
