Christine and the Queens, the creative moniker for French pop singer Héloïse Letissier, has announced the upcoming release of her sophomore full-length studio album, which is to be titled Chris and is scheduled to be released on Sept. 21 via Because Music. The album’s official announcement on Thursday follows an exciting spring for the popular singer which included select concert announcements and the arrival of Chris' lead single, “Girlfriend” feat. Dâm-Funk.

In addition to sharing the album news, Letissier also released the second single set to appear on Chris with “Doesn’t Matter,” which can be heard in its official music video above. Letissier is known for singing in both her native tongue, as well as English, so it only makes sense that she release two separate videos for “Doesn’t Matter,” with the French version also seen below. Both music videos tell similar but separate stories and were each directed by Colin Solal Cardo, who has worked with artists in the past ranging from Phoenix to Alicia Keys.

The upcoming album will follow 2014’s Chaleur humaine, which initially launched Letissier onto the Euro-pop scene after the release of numerous EPs throughout the first half of the decade.

“‘Chaleur Humaine’ was about teenage years, most of it,” Letissier said about her latest studio effort via press release. “Loneliness, really true feelings, and there is a softness in the way I wrote as well because I was properly introducing myself. [‘Chris’] gets to be a bit more exhilarating, because I get to say, okay, I've been introduced now. I get to be more confident, and it matches what happened in my life as a woman.”

Christine and the Queens are set to head out on an international tour in support of the new album beginning on Oct. 11 in Luxembourg. The tour is scheduled to run well into December, with a brief run of North American dates beginning on Oct. 23 at Seattle’s Showbox SoDo and continuing until Nov. 6 before Letissier and her band head back over to the U.K. Tickets for select shows on the tour are on sale now, and can be purchased by clicking here.
