Comedian Mike Epps will be hitting the road this winter and spring for a run of performances across North America with some of his hilarious friends. Under the banner of the “Platinum Comedy Tour,” Epps, along with Rickey Smiley, Michael Blackson, DeRay Davis and Tony Rock will make a scheduled stop at the Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie, Texas on Saturday, May 5.
The Cinco-De-Mayo comedy show will feature Epps, who many fans will recognize from Hollywood films including “Next Friday,” “How High” and “The Honeymooners” just to name a few. Epps gained national notoriety as a part of the Def Comedy Jam tours and television specials back in the mid-1990s. He’ll look to do the same with his jokester amigos on this “Platinum” tour, which is scheduled to start in Washington, DC on Feb. 10, and continue throughout the spring. As of Wednesday, the tour’s final scheduled show will be the May 5 performance at the Verizon Theatre, so fans should expect all four comedians to hold nothing back for the final night of their 2018 campaign.
Epps made headlines recently when the 47-year-old comic announced that he would be an Executive Producer for the first ever "BET Social Awards", which are set to air on the popular television network on Feb. 11. According to BET, the “‘Social Awards’ will be the first televised award show of its kind and seeks to celebrate both the best — and worst — figures and moments in social media over the past year.” Interesting concept for sure, let’s see how this one plays out.
Pre-sale for the May 5 comedy show at the Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie starts Wednesday at 10 a.m. local time, with general on sale following this coming Friday. Tickets for the show, in addition to more information on Mike Epps can be found by clicking here.
