NPR/YouTube

Another year has come and gone with 2017 on its way out and 2018, and whatever it may bring, looming ever closer. We still have some time left to take in some live music before the year officially comes to a close, and New Year's Eve is the perfect time to do it. After all, is there a better way to say goodbye to one year and welcome the next? And San Antonio has plenty of concerts happening for New Year's, from rockabilly favorites to tricentennial celebrations. So put on your finest, pop some champagne, and get your tickets to have a fun, memorable holiday.

REO SpeedwagonPat BenatarFlaco Jiménez, and Little Joe y La Familia
Dec. 31 @ 9 p.m.
Downtown San Antonio

With San Antonio celebrating its 300th birthday this year, officials decided to hold an impressive tricentennial New Year's party and booked '80s rockers REO Speedwagon and Pat Benatar, but the decision met some backlash due to the fact that neither truly represents San Antonio. In response, more local musicians have been added to the celebrations, including San Antonio native Flaco Jiménez and Texas musician Little Joe y La Familia. No matter which acts you decide to see, end your evening with fireworks at midnight.
