Fall in Dallas-Fort Worth is a great time.

The summer heat has subsided, the trees are getting into their beautiful fall-hue coats, and pumpkin patches and corn mazes will be opening their gates to North Texas who have grown tired of the daily heat. There are many pumpkin patches and corn mazes that will provide Metroplex residents with ample choices, but if you’re looking for the best the area has to offer, check out these mazes and patches this fall.  

Tom Thumb Pumpkin Patch

The Dallas Arboretum is a beautiful place to visit year-round, and during fall, you’d definitely want to this splendid grounds to pick out a pumpkin at the Tom Thumb Pumpkin Patch. The patch will have over 75,000 pumpkins in it’s Pumpkin Village, and to keep the fun going, there will also be a Harvest Tea, Tiny Tot Tuesdays and more events while the patch is open.

One of the most famous patches in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, families will have a blast picking out the perfect pumpkin at Preston Trail Farms. The farm, located in the town of Gunter, will open up The Big Orange Pumpkin Farm to North Texas families who are in search for the immortal perfect pumpkin. Also on the property will be corn mazes, hay bales and more!

Hall’s Pumpkin Farm  Corn Maze is perfectly positioned between Dallas and Fort Worth that will allow families from both cities to have a great time. There will be thousands of pumpkins for families to choose from on the farm, and the Corn Maze is one of the largest in North Texas and will certainly be a lot of fun to get lost in.

Far to the north near Texas’ border with Oklahoma lies a pumpkin patch that many in North Texas should visit. Elves Farm, which is about a one-hour drive from the urban sprawl of the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex, has nearly 80,000 pounds worth of pumpkins ready for picking, which makes it one of the largest patches in the great state of Texas.
