Fall is a wonderful time of the year in America’s largest metropolis, and part of the celebration of this season for New Yorkers is visiting the pumpkin patch and the corn mazes that will dot the region. When you hear about Long Island, the first things that may come to your mind could be suburbs and The Hamptons. America’s most populous island, however, is also home to some of the best pumpkin patches in the New York City area, and one of the best will be at the Schmitt’s Family Farm. This farm, open seven days a week, is a pumpkin lover’s haven, with a great pumpkin patch that will have every pumpkin imaginable, and a 7-acre corn maze to keep the family plenty busy during the visit to the farm.

Though some of the best pumpkin patches and corn mazes are in the country, if you don’t want to leave the confines of the city, check out this Staten Island farm. Decker Farm was open in the early 1800s and is still the place to go on Staten Island to get that awesome fall pumpkin. In addition to its stellar pumpkin patch, Decker Farm also has face painting, a corn maze and more that will make this farm the place to be during fall.

You didn’t even know that Queens had farms, did you? Well, now you know that Queens has one of the best farms in the city at the Queens County Farm Museum, which will be home to an amazing pumpkin patch and the Amazing Maize Maze that is always challenging to maze lovers. This farm is open on the weekends throughout October, and if you don’t want to leave the city, the Queens County Farm Museum should be a stop to enjoy the trappings of fall.

Over in New Jersey, there is plenty of fall fun to be had at this famed farm. Ort Farms has been a tradition among New Jersey families for decades, and in addition to having one heck of a pumpkin patch, Ort Farms has other attractions such as a mini tractor play set for the kiddos and Monster Truck rides that will keep the entire family entertained.
