After selling out Red Rocks in 2018, Grateful Dead tribute act Dark Star Orchestra will return to the famed venue in 2019. The band will head to The Rocks on September 8 with support from legendary blues band Hot Tuna, founded by Jefferson Airplane members Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady. $30 early bird tickets will be available while supplies last. You can find ticket info for Dark Star Orchestra at Red Rocks by following this link.

For over 20 years, Dark Star Orchestra has been faithfully recreating Grateful Dead shows to the delight of Dead Heads across the country. What sets Dark Star Orchestra apart from many Grateful Dead tribute acts is that they reimagine individual shows from history, playing the exact same sets the Dead played on a particular night. This gives the band a chance to tackle some of the Dead’s most epic shows. For their debut at Red Rocks last year, which took place on July 7, DSO took on the Dead’s legendary second show at Red Rocks from the exact date 40 years prior.

In 2019 DSO will continue to celebrate the Dead’s Red Rocks legacy by performing the band’s show from September 8, 1983. Last year Grateful Dead member Donna Jean Godchaux joined DSO on the Red Rocks stage, which begs the question: Who will they bring up this year?

Don’t miss your chance to catch Dark Star Orchestra when they return to Red Rocks on Sept. 8, 2019. Dark Star Orchestra will also be heading out on the road this fall and winter. Click here to browse AXS for tickets to select Dark Star Orchestra shows.
