Daryl Hall & John Oates and Tears for Fear will bring their co-headlining tour to Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena on Saturday, May 20. The concert is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. with a special acoustic performance from Allen Stone.
Renowned pop duo Hall & Oates is best known for No. 1 hits like “Rich Girl,” “Kiss on My List,” “Private Eyes,” “I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do),” “Maneater,” and “Out of Touch.”
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers will celebrate the 45th anniversary of their debut studio long-player, Whole Oats, this November. The album released in 1974 through Atlantic Records, was amchored by the single “Goodnight and Goodmorning.”
Sixth album Beauty on a Back Street will celebrate its 40th anniversary in September.
This year also marks the 35th anniversary of H2O, the duo’s eleventh LP. Released in October 1982, the album featured three top ten singles: “Maneater,” “One on One,” and “Family Man.”
Hall & Oates’s fifteenth studio album, Marigold Sky, will celebrate its 20th anniversary in September. The album, released in 1997 via Push Records, spawned five singles: “Hold On To Yourself,” “The Sky is Falling,” “Romeo Is Bleeding,” “Promise Ain’t Enough,” and “Throw The Roses Away.”
Platinum-selling U.K. synth-pop group Tears for Fears, best known for the mid-’80s hits “Shout” and “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” released their most recent full-length, Everybody Loves a Happy Ending, back in September 2004 through the New Door label, under Universal Music. The album spawned three singles: “Closest Thing to Heaven,” “Everybody Loves a Happy Ending/Call Me Mellow,” and “Secret World.”
The Hurting, Tears for Fears’ debut LP, was released in March 1983. The album landed at No. 73 and birthed the group’s first three hit singles: “Mad World,” “Change,” and “Pale Shelter.”
Kicking off the show with an acoustic performance will be Allen Stone. The soul-pop, folk-rock, and R&B singer-songwriter released his latest LP, Radius, in May 2015 via Capitol Records. A deluxe edition of the album was released last year via ATO Records.The album, which includes the singles “Upside” and “Freedom,” was produced by Benny Cassette (Kanye West) and Malay (Frank Ocean).
