Dawes adds additional dates to An Evening With Dawes tour
Dawes

Los Angeles-based Folk-rock band Dawes’ current An Evening with Dawes tour has been going pretty well. So well, in fact, that the group recently added seven addition dates to the tour that will fall in between the end of July and the first week of Aug. The success of the tour likely has to do with its unique format; each show features two sets made up of both new and fan favorite material. Given that most of the band’s late summer dates are at music festivals and won’t follow the same format, these recently added shows might be the last chance for fans to take in this unique presentation of Dawes’ music. The newly books dates includes stops in North Dakota, Illinois, Colorado, Iowa, Wisconsin and Detroit, Michigan’s The Majestic Theatre.

Founded in the late 2000s, Dawes was initially intended to be a post-punk outfit, but they moved into a folk rock direction by the time they recorded their first album, 2009’s North Hills. While their initial release was more of a critical favorite than a commercial success, but the emotive, rootsy sound eventually allowed them to carve a niche in the mainstream. The band most recent album, 2016’s wonderful and wonderfully named We’re All Gonna Die, debuted at number o on Billboard’s US folk albums chart.
