Deer Tick announce pair of Boston New Year's Eve shows

Anyone looking for something fun to do on New Year’s Eve now has an exciting new option. On Aug. 1, alternative rock band Deer Tick announced plans to celebrate the coming of 2018 by playing shows on Dec. 30-31 at Cambridge, Mass.’s own The Sinclair. Both shows will begin at 9 p.m. EST and tickets go on sale August 4 at 12 p.m.

The Providence, R.I.-hailing rockers are currently touring in support of their upcoming albums Deer Tick Vol. 1 &2, which are due out Sept. 15. Despite what their titles may lead fans to believe, this release is not a greatest hits compilation. In actuality, Deer Tick Vol. 1 &2 will be two separate LPs that will be comprised of all new material belonging to two different genres. According to a tweet the band made in June, Vol. 1 will be an acoustic album whereas Vol.2 will be a straight ahead rock record.

Upon the release of their sixth and seventh albums, Deer Tick will join the small group of high-profile recording artists that have released two new records on the same day, a list that includes such luminaries as Guns N’ Roses and Tom Waits.
