Anyone who claims that there’s no spirit left in rock and roll, has clearly yet to attend a Diarrhea Planet show. The six-piece, guitar-armored rock outfit from Nashville have built a dedicated following across the country over the past few years thanks to their wildly fun on-stage antics and continuous touring schedule. Now it looks like they’ll be bringing their six-stringed fun to Brooklyn this winter to help New Yorkers kiss 2017 goodbye with a pair of New Year’s Eve shows at Rough Trade NYC on Dec. 30 and 31.
Announced on Tuesday, the two new shows will not only close out the band’s year, but their 2017 North American tour schedule as well, which starts in just over a month at Kansas City’s Riot Room on Nov. 1. The 14 date run will see the guitar band visiting central and west coast cities in the U.S. and Canada throughout the month of November, before taking a quick break and picking up right as the year comes to a close.
For New Yorkers looking to save a dollar on the ridiculously overpriced cover charges that most bars and nightclubs will be demanding on New Year’s Eve, an end-of-the-year party with the fellas of Diarrhea Planet just became the hottest ticket in town. The band has been spending much of their time on the road over the past year in promotion of their third full-length album in 2016’s Turn To Gold. Almost one year ago today, the band were giving New Yorkers an excuse to get rowdy with a pair of NYC shows at the Music Hall of Williamsburg and Bowery Ballroom shortly following the release of the album. As the old saying goes, a year away certainly makes the desire to crowd surf in one’s heart grow stronger.
Tickets for the two newly announce NYE shows will be going on sale starting Friday, Sept. 29, and can be purchased by clicking here.
