Diplo recently hit his 40th birthday milestone and it seems the Grammy-winning artist-producer celebrated his big day in Jamaica – and also received a baby goat as a present.

Diplo posted a photo of himself holding his new furry friend on Instagram yesterday (Nov. 15) and also teased a sweet collaboration with John Mayer in the caption. He began the post by saying, “I wanted to post a picture of me and @johnmayer last night working in the studio because I know it would have been a moment. Something of a benchmark in my augmented reality of Instagram ...”

He went on to say he didn’t’ want to break their shared “state of creative delight” by stopping to “to create something fake” to revel in – for the good of his social media status.

It seems like fans may not have too long to wait to hear Diplo and Mayer’s combined creative effort. He finished the message saying, “expect some new music with John soon -comment below if you're excited.” Read the entire post below.

Diplo’s followers expressed all sorts of love and excitement about the impending collab in response. One follower, chadlamon, suggested they do a trap remix to “Free Falling.” Mayer often covers the Tom Petty hit live and it was featured on his 2008 “Where the Light Is” live album.

A potential collaboration between Mayer and Diplo will be amazing. Diplo has worked with a legion of huge artists. He snagged two Album of the Year Grammy nominations last year for his production work with Beyoncé on Lemonade and Justin Bieber on Purpose. He recently teamed with Ellie Goulding and Swae Lee on the single "Close to Me," which was released Oct. 24.

Mayer recently dropped an introspective new single “I Guess I Just Feel Like,” and told Billboard he plans to release a series of singles instead of tackling a full-length album follow up to The Search for Everything right now. He also said he wants to bring “the truth” back to songwriting.

Mayer is expanding his creative endeavors, hosting a regular Instagram talk show called “Current Mood” and is performing with Dave Chappelle in their “Dave Chappelle & John Mayer: Controlled Danger” show at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Dec. 30 (Tickets).
