The Dirty Heads have revealed a run of North American tour dates set for this fall, which will take place around the upcoming Oct.13 release of their sixth studio album, Swim Team. Announced on Monday, the 26 shows will start out on Sept. 9 in Cañon City, Colo. and comes to a close on Nov. 24 in Oakland, Calif..
The reggae-hip hop fusion group just wrapped up a first half of summer headlining tour, which saw them performing across the country to larger outdoor venues including a southern California hometown show at the Santa Barbara Bowl back in July.
The October release of Swim Team comes just a little over a year since the band’s last studio effort, Dirty Heads, was released back in July 2016. They once again recruited one of their longtime collaborators, tour mates and musical buddies in Rome Ramirez, of Sublime with Rome, to produce the album. The recently released video for the album's first single, "Vacation," also stars a very familiar high school face in Saved By The Bell’s Dennis Haskins (aka Mr. Belding).
“We didn’t go in with any real direction for this album,” Singer Jared Watson said in a recent interview. “Forcing a single never works. We just went in wanting to have a good time and all of this new, creative and cool stuff started happening and that kind of directed where the album is now.”
Tickets for select shows on their fall tour will be going on sale starting this Friday, Aug. 11 at 10 a.m. local time, and can be purchased by clicking here.
