DJ Khaled released his latest set Grateful featuring a lineup of star-studded artists and the album is debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. The latest No. 1 of 2017 is reflected on the July 4 chart update which will post on that day despite the holiday. Grateful is benefiting largely from streaming units thanks to individual plays on platforms such as Spotify.
Grateful begins its trek on the Top 200 with a total of 149,000 units which combines sales, streaming and track sales units. For every 1,500 plays from an album, that equates to one unit towards the final tally. The set earned 81,000 streaming units, or roughly 121 million listens. Of the total number for the tracking week, 50,000 were in actual album sales while 19,000 were from track downloads.
Grateful marks DJ Khaled's second No. 1 on the chart and is his seventh top 10 record overall. In 2016, his first No. 1 Major Key opened with 95,000 units and 59,000 in sales.
The album has been fueled by "I'm the One" featuring Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne which became the 28th song in history to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart. The latest release, "Wild Thoughts" featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller, entered the Hot 100 at No. 4, is a significant factor in the streaming units.
