JBTV Music Entertainment has just aired its 26th annual Safe Drive Live Music Marathon on Chicago’s CAN TV Channel 19 over the weekend. The extended concert event, featuring some of the biggest indie rock names and alt rock bands, including Fall Out Boy, Foster The People and more is now available for streaming on JBTV’s official website. Consisting of over 10 hours of live performances and cautionary messages, the marathon concert provides the perfect viewing material for those opting for a lower key New Year’s Eve come Dec. 31.
Leading up to the New Year, Safe Drive program blocks will continue to broadcast on Comcast Channel 25 and WJYS in the Chicago DMA, peaking with a nationally televised New Year’s Eve Special running from 10 p.m. on Dec. 31 until 3 a.m. on New Year’s day on over 40 television markets on Tuff TV national digital network.
JBTV is a nationally broadcast music-based television show that focuses primarily on up and coming independent artists. The show has been operating for over 30 years and delivers live in-studio performances, interviews and music videos from up-and-coming musicians and artists. Jerry Bryant, with his now-iconic long white hair and matching beard, founded JBTV in 1984 and has since been instrumental to the show’s production and success. He is the show’s executive producer, sharing hosting duties with Greg Corner and Lauren O'Neill, the latter of WKQX 101.1.
For the last 25 years, Bryant has teamed up with road safety advocate Marti Belluschi, who at 15 years old was in a vehicle that was struck head-on at 90 mph by a drunk driver, to deliver anti-impaired driving messages to adults. She enthusiastically supports Bryant’s message and approach. “Jerry Bryant produces the most entertaining program that communicates a positive message about not driving impaired,” said Belluschi. “He’s really made a difference by reaching adults with a message communicated by musicians who younger adults, in particular, are more likely to follow.”
JBTV’s 26th annual Safe Drive Live Music Marathon features performances by a range of amazing artists including Capital Cities, who recently sat down with AXS for an exclusive interview prior to their intimate performance at the Great Street Restaurant at the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel. Other artists appearing on the mega music marathon are Phantogram, Band of Skulls, Imagine Dragons, Silversun Pickups, Andrew WK, Cage the Elephant, Charli XCX, Grouplove, Wolfmother, Gary Numan, Delta Spirit, Arctic Monkeys and tons more.
