Singer/songwriters Dua Lipa and Justine Skye have teamed up with H&M's new /Nyden fashion brand to create separate capsule collections that are expected to launch sometime this year. In a video announcement, Lipa said that she is planning four capsule collections with /Nyden. Skye is planning one /Nyden capsule collection, according to Skye's video announcement.
/Nyden is a low-cost, non-traditional brand that is aimed at Millennials, and it will have a wide range of models and sizes. Soccer star Jérôme Boateng, actress Noomi Rapace and tattoo artist Dr. Woo have also entered deals with /Nyden to create their own collections. In April 2018, /Nyden released a pre-launch set of unisex T-shirts, which have been selling out, according to the British edition of Vogue. In its description of /'Nyden, Vogue noted: "The brainchild of Oscar Olsson, who has headed up the H&M's innovation lab since 2013, /Nyden takes its name from two Swedish words, 'ny' and 'den,' meaning, respectively, 'new' and 'it.'”
It's been a busy year so far for Dua Lipa. She made her "Saturday Night Live" debut on Feb. 3. At the 2018 Brit Awards on Feb. 21, she won the prizes for British Breakthrough Act and British Female Solo Artist. And she's been touring steadily in support of her self-titled debut album, which was released in 2017. Lipa has also collaborated with Silk City, the duo consisting of Grammy-winning producers/DJs Mark Ronson and Diplo. The Silk City/Dua Lipa collaboration should arrive sometime this summer, according to a comment Diplo made on his Twitter account.
Skye's debut album, Ultraviolet, was released in January 2018 on Roc Nation/Republic Records. She hasn't toured for the album yet, but she co-hosted the red carpet pre-show for the 2018 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on May 20.
