EELS release new album and share hauntingly beautiful stop-motion video for 'Bone Dry'

To celebrate the release new album, The Deconstruction, EELS has shared a delightfully dark video for Deconstruction track “Bone Dry.” The visual perfectly captures the mood of EELS mastermind Mark Oliver Everett’s spooky tune.

The stunning stop-motion video--helmed by director Sofia Astrom and Art Director Tony Candelaria--has a “Nightmare Before Christmas” vibe but showcases the leaps and bounds stop-motion has taken since Tim Burton’s 1993 classic (check out the moss on the gargoyle in the cemetery). Watch the video for “Bone Dry” above.

The Deconstruction is Mark Oliver Everett’s 12th studio album under the EELS moniker and his first since 2014’s The Cautionary Tales Of Mark Oliver Everett. Before it’s release on April 6, The Deconstruction spun the singles “The Deconstruction,” Premonition,” “Bone Dry” and “Today’s the Day.” So far only “Bone Dry” and “Today’s the Day” have received the visual treatment. You can check out the video for “Today’s the Day” below.
