Don’t get emotional or anything, but the underground rave sensation known as Emo Nite is taking their runny eyeliner and 2000s-era music on the road over the next few months. Announced on Friday, Emo Nite’s 2018 winter-into-spring tour will see the popular throwback party visiting cities across the U.S. starting Saturday night in Dallas, and running until April with a final show at the Bart Lounge in Cathedral City, CA on April 17.
The touring event began as a concert simulation bringing the tunes of 2000s emo genres to 20 and 30-somethings around the country back in 2014. It will now stretch its skinny jean legs by visiting mostly larger cities around the country over the next four months, including Austin, Houston, Los Angeles, Orlando, Seattle and Phoenix just to name a few. Tickets for select shows on the 2018 emo tour are on sale now, and can be purchased by clicking here.
Emo Nite started as a party idea between friends Barbara Szabo, T.J. Petracca and Morgan Freed, and has blossomed over the last few years as one of the premiere throwback semi-concert events amongst millennials in the U.S. Nostalgia is very bankable amongst young music fans at the moment, and Emo Nite certainly does its best to bring the spirit started by Warped Tour and beyond to stages around the country. There’s no real requirement for entry, aside from a burning desire to dance, some tear-friendly eyeliner and of course, plenty of black clothing attire.
Emo Nite held its first daytime festival this past December. The one-day event took place at Los Angeles' Shrine Expo Hall & Grounds on Dec. 3, and featured DJ sets and live performances from artists including members of The Used, Machine Gun Kelly and Craig Owens to name a few. Fans in attendance were also treated to surprise performances from Demi Lovato, The Chainsmokers and Sum 41’s Frank Zummo. So fans should be ready for an anything-goes kind of night when Emo Nite comes to their city this year.
