Erykah Badu coming to the Shrine Expo Hall on Feb. 13 with Thundercat

The astonishing career of Erykah Badu goes on & on (...& on).

The R&B icon has just announced a pair of California shows with her old friend (and recent Jeopardy! question) Thundercat that will take place around Valentine's Day. Badu and Thundercat will perform at the Shrine Expo Hall on Tuesday, Feb. 13 before jetting up to the Bay Area for a V-Day performance at the San Francisco Armory. Since releasing her classic debut Baduizm in 1997, Badu has emerged one of the most influential voices--and idiosyncratic personalities--in R&B. Although her recorded output has been somewhat sporadic (she's released just five studio albums in 20 years), Badu has been instrumental in the evolution of R&B and her live shows are legendary.

Singer, songwriter and bass guitar virtuoso Thundercat--aka Stephen Bruner--worked with Badu early in his career before moving onto his acclaimed solo albums. A generous collaborator, Thundercat has also worked with Flying Lotus, Kendrick Lamar and Michael McDonald and his most recent record Drunk was one of the most acclaimed releases of 2017.

Both artists are brilliant in their own right and seeing them together could add up to one of the best shows of 2018. Click here for tickets to the Shrine concert on Feb. 13 and follow this link for tickets to their date at the San Francisco Armory on Valentine's Day.
