Esports Championship Series returns to Wembley for Season 3 finals

The Esports Championship Series is returning to England for its Season 3 finals. The ECS Season 3 Grand Finals start on Saturday, June 24 at The SSE Arena, Wembley in London, and tickets go on sale this Friday, April 7 at 9 a.m. BST through AXS.

It's a move back across the pond for the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive competition after the ECS Season 2 Grand Final was held last year in Anaheim, CA. European powerhouse Astralis defeated North American challengers OpTic Gaming 2-0 to claim the Season 2 grand prize of $250,000. After starting 2017 off with a victory at Atlanta's ELEAGUE Major, it's entirely possible that Astralis could conquer their way back to the ECS Season 3 finals - and eSports fans can get themselves great seats to the action.

Tickets to the ECS Season 3 finals start at just £12.99. Premium tickets are also available at £40, providing premium seating as well as a limited edition Esports Championship Series hat as a unique souvenir. Per the event website, ECS is also offering a 50 percent discount on standard tickets to students who present a valid ID at time of purchase.

The website also provides some really interesting information for CSGO enthusiasts: ECS is offering special "ticket progress" perks, in which other fun opportunities at the Season 3 finals open up if they hit certain ticket sales goals. If they sell 1,000 tickets, select fans will have a chance for a backstage "Super VIP Tour" where they can meet some of the players. At 1,500 things get a bit hilarious as the "ECS Barber Shop" will recruit players to give ill-advised haircuts to fans.

At 2,000 ECS will host a quiz show pitting CSGO professionals against one another in a trivia contest, while at 2,500 they'll put together a showmatch between pros and eSports fans. But our favorite "ticket progress" goal is the 3,000 mark, which involves CSGO casters James Bardolph and Daniel "DDK" Kapadia leading a bus tour of London. If it's anything like when Bardolph and DDK tried to conduct a set tour, that's a bus eSports fans will want to be on. And with some of the best teams in the world competing in the eSports Championship Series, the ECS Season 3 Finals are an event that is not to be missed.

Tickets for the ECS Season 3 Finals go on sale this Friday, April 7 at 9 a.m. BST through the events page at AXS.
