CROUSE, whose stage name was formally his real name, Joel Crouse, has gone through many changes throughout his music career that include more than his name. Previously releasing a country album and even opening for Taylor Swift on her Red Tour and for Darius Rucker, CROUSE has decided to eliminate his country sound and head the alternative rock route.
He previously released his debut single "Paranoid," in September, before the 25-year-old singer/songwriter made his Los Angeles debut.
"Lyrically, I'm inspired by people who took chances on their music," Crouse said in a press statement. "When you're an artist, you have to show that raw nerve."
"Paranoid" is described as being "built on a big rock groove with psychedelicized swirling synths and echoplexed vocals."
Crouse has been making a name for himself—mostly in his home of Nashville, and Ed Sheeran even showed up to one of his performances last week in the music city.
