With one of the most powerful and distinctive voices in rock & roll, Janis Joplin burst onto the world stage in 1967 with an incendiary performance at the Monterey Pop Festival alongside other bands and artists like The Who and Jimi Hendrix. Although her star burned briefly, it also burned brightly and Janis left us with some of rock’s most iconic songs and paved the way for countless other female artists in the male-dominated world of rock. Janis was an undeniable force...and still is.
You can relive the Queen of Rock & Roll’s musical journey when the Broadway musical “A Night with Janis Joplin” comes to the Pikes Peak Center in Colorado Springs on Friday, Feb. 2.
