On May 16, live music’s premier hologram production company, Eyellusion, announced it would be gaining a hefty investment thanks to Thomas Dolan. Dolan serves on the boards of both Madison Square Garden as well as AMC Networks and has contributed $2 million in order to expand the company. He’ll also be stepping in among CEO Jeff Pezzuti, EVP Ahmet Zappa and Director Of Creative Development Chad Finnerty, serving in an ongoing advisory role for Eyellusion.
“From our public launch at the Wacken Open Air music festival in 2016, we’ve led the way in this new market, demonstrating that there is audience demand for a new live music experience. Along the way, we’ve earned a reputation for being authentic, a true partner for artists and estates, and laser-focused on creating quality productions; built with fans in mind. We are thrilled that Tom Dolan has joined us as an investor and advisor. He believes in our vision and his involvement is further validation of our capabilities and commitment to pioneering this fast-growing market,” Pezzuti tells AXS.
Eyellusion ended 2017 on a high note, wrapping the first leg of its “DIO Returns” tour, playing 10 dates in seven countries over 18 days, to large crowds of excited fans. Currently in production and scheduled for early 2019, is the highly-anticipated “Bizarre World of Frank Zappa” tour. The show will be based in part, on never-before-seen performance footage from the early ‘70s, and will feature longtime and legendary Zappa players performing live on stage.
“The Eyellusion team is incredibly talented, bringing a combination of unique skill sets and experience across music, touring and digital effects,” Dolan said in a press release. “I can’t wait for the team to share the new shows they’re creating with live music fans everywhere, making history along the way.”
The Eyellusion team also includes Wendy Dio, Todd Singerman, world-renowned drummer Kenny Aronoff and Hollywood digital effects executive Scott Ross.
