Take the family for a ride in this larger than life train through 80 acres of farms, fields, homes, and workshops. Tickets are $11.75 for museum members and all children under 4. The Downtown Mount Clemens Made in Michigan show will be an open-air event dedicated to products made in Michigan. The showcase of products made in Michigan will give the family a chance to support the local economy by purchasing from Michigan based companies and vendors. Admission will be free.

Spend the spring day outdoors at Independence Oaks Park for Feather Fest. Take bird hikes, enjoy crafts and games, and make and take a bird feeder. Meet at the Lake Point Shelter across from the Boat House. Feather Fest will be free with $5 park admission.

Art Birmingham is an annual Mother’s Day tradition in downtown Birmingham. The 37th annual fine art fair will showcase more than 150 juried artists. Mom and the family will enjoy browsing to see paintings, ceramics, jewelry, photography, sculptures, and other artful media. Admission to Art Birmingham will be free.

Holland, over on the west side of Michigan, will hold their famous Tulip Time festival, featuring Dutch Heritage, music, art, carnival rides, children’s activities, food, and more. Tall Ships will be at the dock and available for tours on May 9-13 ($5). There will be free attractions and activities, as well as ticketed events at this Dutch tulip festival. Take the family for a ride to western Michigan for this large festival to celebrate colorful spring flowers for Mother’s Day.
