Celebrate Mother’s Day weekend  2018 with mom and the family in San Francisco, Oakland, and the Bay Area. 77th Annual Mother’s Day Rose Show

Take the family to enjoy an afternoon of beauty and unique garden roses. Stroll around the displays by The San Francisco Rose Society and The Golden Gate Rose Society. Show roses will be available for sale starting at 4 p.m., so purchase some gorgeous roses for Mom to take home.

Community Mother’s Day: Exploratorium

Community Mother’s Day is for all mothers, but especially for Latinas and their families. The special day will offer bilingual programming, performances of folk dances, a mariachi concert, and more. Admission will be “Pay-what-you-wish.”

Mother’s Day Bike Ride Around at the SF Zoo

Take a guided 90-minute bike ride through the San Francisco Zoo. The Mother’s Day Bike Around in May and the Father’s Day Bike Around in June will focus of the zoo animals’ maternal and paternal care. Pre-registration is required. Zoo admission is included in the fee, so plan to stroll through the zoo after the bike rise. Registrants should bring their own pikes. Tickets are $35-$45.  Children who ride the back of the bikes will be admitted free

Mother’s Day Picnic

The Marin Audubon Society will hold the Mother’s Day Picnic, a 50-year tradition which will benefit Audubon Canyon Ranch and Marin Audubon Society. Mom, along with the entire family, will enjoy a day outdoors, exploring nature and a picnic lunch. Purchase tickets in advance for this springtime event. Tickets are $30/Adults and $10/Children 12 and under.

Taiwanese American Cultural Festival

The 2018 festival will be the 26th consecutive celebration of Taiwanese culture, attracting more than 10,000 people from across the Bay area. The entire family will have fun experiencing Taiwanese entertainment and food at this popular street festival. Admission will be free.

Alameda Spring Festival 2018

The Alameda Spring Festival is a family-friendly event which will be held on Mother’s Day weekend. There will be over 150 artisans at arts and crafts booths, food and beverages, live music, and a play area for children. Admission will be free.

Moms get free train ride at Oakland Zoo

Moms will receive a free train ride at Oakland Zoo in honor of Mother’s Day. A day at the zoo is a popular family-friendly activity on any day of the year, including a day that celebrates moms.  The zoo moms will also enjoy special treats and holiday enrichments, which zoo guests will be able to watch. The free train ride for Mom will be included with regular zoo admission ($18-$22 and free for children under 2).

2018 Mother’s Day Marina Green 5K & Kids’ Race

The Mother’s Day runs is a scenic 5K for children and adults. There will be a free half-mile Kids Race for children 12 and under at 9:45 a.m.
