Celebrate New Year's Eve and New Year's Day with the family at special events in Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas in 2017. There are several spectacular events, including holiday light shows that will be closing down at the beginning of 2018. Take the time to enjoy the family-friendly holiday lights and festive events while they last. 

AT&T Streaming Lights @ Reunion Tower

AT&T Streaming Lights @ Reunion Tower will be a show of dazzling fireworks to ring in the New Year. Celebrate the New Year at this colorful show that the entire family will enjoy. The eight-minute show will feature more than 4,000 special effects. The best views will be from the West side of Trinity River and Trinity River Park. The show will be televised on NBC, in case you want to watch from the comfort of home.

ICE! Featuring ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

New Year's Eve and New Year's Day are the final two days of the winter wonderland at Gaylord Texas Resort. The spectacular walk-through attraction feature two million pounds of colorful ice sculptures, tall ice slides, a beautiful full Nativity carved in ice, and the classic story ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. General admission is $21.99-$12.99/Child. 

The 12 Days of Christmas

The Dallas Arboretum will be open for The 12 Days of Christmas and other holiday events during the daytime on New Year's Eve. The Garden features 12 decorated gazebos displaying Victorian-era characters portraying the scenes of the classic Christmas carol.  Tickets $10-$15.

 Dallas Zoo Lights

Dallas Zoo Lights is a festive show of lights and entertainment for the family. The final day of the show will be on Jan. 2. Zoo Lights will be open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, so this will be a great family event to end 2017 or begin 2018.  Zoo Lights will be free with regular zoo admission ($12-$15), so you can see the zoo animals during the day and the seasonal lights in the evening from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Magical Winter Lights

Take the family to the fantastic Magical Winter Nights at Lone Star Park to enjoy holiday cheer. Expect to see grand lights displays, including the Magical Wonderland, The Lone Star State, Dinosaur Land, Mystery of the East, and Christmas Candy Land. There will also be cultural performances and characters entertaining the family. Tickets will be $21/Adult, $13/Child (4-12) & Senior (65+). Wristbands for unlimited carnival rides will be $18.

Prairie Lights

New Year’s Eve is the closing night of Prairie Lights so take the family to enjoy this drive-through light show featuring four million sparkling lights. Tickets on New Year's Eve are $45/Carload.

Fair Park’s Leonhardt Lagoon features Holiday Wonder through Jan. 7. The lights show will be open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, so consider this as a way to ring in the New Year with your family. Tickets are $20/Adults, $12/Children (3-12), and Free/Children under 3.

Light Show Spectacular

The Light Show Spectacular in Historic Downtown Grapevine will be illuminated through Jan. 7. Take the family to see the continuous nightly shows, which are free and open to the public.

Christmas in the Square

Christmas in the Square is the largest choreographed show of holiday lights in North Texas, featured an extravaganza of over 175,000 lights. New Year’s Eve is the final night of Christmas in the Square, which will be free and open to the public.  

Vitruvian Lights – A Magical Night of Lights

Vitruvian Park’s holiday light show will run through New Year’s Day. The delightful show is free and open to the public.

Panther Island Ice Skating Rink

The family will enjoy celebrating the New Year ice skating at Panther Island Skating Rink. The ice rink will be open through Jan. 15, including all holidays, so it will be open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Admission of $12/per person will include skate rental and tax.

Skate the Square

The Skate the Square outdoor ice rink in Frisco is decorated for the holidays and will be open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.  Tickets are $12/per person, with or without skate rental.
