Celebrate New Year’s Eve by spending with the family at a family-friendly event in Tulsa, as 2017 turns into 2018.  Ring in the New Year by enjoying holiday lights, the Chinese Lantern Festival, running a 5K marathon, or ice skating with the family.

Noon Year’s Eve

Noon Year’s Eve is a special kid-friendly event during the daytime on Dec. 30. Kids will have fun with crafts, dancing, and playing at the museum. There will be a countdown at noon and thousands of balloons will drop from the ceiling to ring in the New Year. Tickets are $8-$10.

Race Into the New Year 5K

Celebrate good health by running in the New Year 5K on New Year’s Eve. The race will allow runners to run from one year to the next. All runners will receive a race shirt and free admission to the Chinese Lantern Light Festival on Dec. 31. There will also be a One Mile Fun Run for children and adults, and like the 5K, participants will receive free admission to the Chinese Lantern Festival. Tickets will be $15-$35.

Tulsa Lantern Light Festival

The Chinese Lantern Light festival will be open from 5 p.m. until 1 a.m. on Dec. 31, so you can ring in the New Year by visiting the spectacular display of Chinese lanterns. The 2,000-year-old Chinese custom of lighting dazzling Chinese lanterns is to celebrate the reunion of the family and to illuminate the future. Each colorful lantern, crafted by Chinese artisans, creates a three-dimensional stained-glass effect. You can purchase tickets online to avoid long lines and save time.  Tickets are $16-$20, free for children under.

Arvest/BOK Winterfest in Downtown Tulsa

The 10th Arvest Winterfest is a festive entertainment event being held outside the BOK Center in Downtown Tulsa. The seasonal celebration features beautiful holiday decorations, ice skating on the ice rink, and family-friendly fun.  Tickets are $12, or $8 if you bring your own ice skates. Tickets for children 3 and under are $8. Tickets for Arvest customers are $6.

Winterland Skate Day and New Year’s Eve Bash

Kids and adults alike will enjoy gliding across the ice at Winterland during the evening of New Year’s Eve. The fee for skating will be $5 for adults and children ages 11 and up. Kids 10 and under will skate free with a paid adult ticket.

17th Annual New Year’s Eve Sobriety Pow Wow

The New Year’s Eve Sobriety Pow Wow will be a family-friendly event and will be alcohol-free. The entire family can enjoy the culture of Native Americans as they dance, starting with the Gourd Dance. Admission will be free.
