The holidays will be festive and bright with all the special Christmas events in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas in 2017. The entire family will get in the holiday spirit while enjoying ice skating, markets, colorful decorations and the happiness that comes with having fun with loved ones. 

Merry Christmas Charlie Brown Exhibition
Nov. 1-Jan. 16

The family will enjoy the traveling Peanuts exhibition from the Charles M. Schultz Museum. The adorable characters of the popular’ comic strips will be celebrated as they explore the meaning of Christmas, including the joys and pitfalls. Gallery hours will vary, so check the website for further information. The exhibition will be free and open to the public.

ICE! Featuring ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

The indoor winter wonderland will be a walk-through attraction featuring two million pounds of colorful ice sculptures, tall ice slides, a dramatic full Nativity carved in ice, and the classic story ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. The 12 Days of Christmas

 Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden, 8525 Garland Rd., Dallas, TX 75218

The garden will feature 12 elaborately decorated gazebos filled with characters in Victorian-era costumes, illustrating the scenes from the popular Christmas carol. Each gazebo will be encased in glass and will offer a dramatic, three-dimensional experience that will be fun for children and adults.  Tickets $10-$15. The tickets for the daytime display and nighttime display will be separate tickets.

The entire family will enjoy ice skating at over the holiday season.  Admission of $12/per person will include skate rental and tax.

Skate the Square

Take the family ice skating at the outdoor ice rink in Frisco, which will be festively decorated for the Christmas in the Square event. The fee will be $12/per person, with or without skate rental.

Historic Downtown Grapevine steps back in time with Victorian era decorations and sparkling lights. The entire family will enjoy the festive Christmas scene. There will be tractor-drawn wagon rides, Christmas photo opportunities, and holiday entertainment, so join the fun. Christmas on Main will be free and open to the public.

Grand Tree Lighting Celebration

The tallest indoor Christmas tree will be illuminated with a Grand Tree Lighting Celebration on Nov.24. The Grand Tree Lighting will feature performances by Olympic Champions Meryl Davis & Charlie White (2014); U.S. Professional Champion Johnathan Cassar (2017), and U.S. Junior Ladies Champion Emily Chan (2016). The festive holiday event will be free to attend.

Take the family to see Santa Claus and his jolly elves as they spread holiday cheer. Kids will enjoy photos with Santa, crafts, and tasty treats. Santa will visit the GeO-Deck every Saturday between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Admission will be $17/Adults, $8/Youth (4-12), & Free/Child (3 and under).

Speedway Children’s Charities Tree Lighting & Grants Ceremony

Take the family to Texas Motor Speedway for the lighting of the largest living Christmas Tree in North Texas and holiday fireworks. The event will be free and open to the public. Seating will be first come, first served, so guests will be welcome to bring their own lawn chairs.
