Father John Misty contributes a song to the 'Hotel Artemis' soundtrack

In Father John Misty’s song “Mr. Tillman,” he speaks of a man who stays in a hotel and leaves his passport in the mini fridge. In “Please Don’t Die,” FJM sits in a trashed hotel room full of cigarette butts and wine bottles. There’s a hotel theme here.

The singer-songwriter recently penned a tune called “Gilded Cage” for the film “Hotel Artemis.” And the hotel theme continues. Tillman has a connection to the movie. The film's director, Drew Pearce, helmed the visual for FJM’s “The Night Josh Tillman Came To Our Apartment.” And naturally, Misty makes a cameo in “Hotel Artemis.”

“I made music videos for Josh,” Pearce said. “And the camera loves him…I just think Josh is amazing on camera, and he was up for it. It was lovely to have him around." “Hotel Artemis” comes out on June 8. FJM’s latest album, God’s Favorite Customer, is out now.
