Country act Florida Georgia Line and pop stars the Backstreet Boys will be performing their biggest hits on CMT Crossroads, premiering on Aug. 30, 2017, according to CMT. The multi-platinum selling acts first collaborated on their hit song “God, Your Mama, and Me.”
The CMT Crossover show will feature “God, Your Mama, and Me,” as well as other collaborations of hits from the Backstreet Boys and Florida Georgia Line. the Backstreet Boys’ songs “I Want It That Way and “As Long As You Want Me” are two of the songs listed. Hits from Florida Georgia Line in the list of collaborations include “Cruise” and “H.O.L.Y.”
The two acts are touring this summer, and for select dates, they are performing in joint stadium concerts. The CMT Crossover concert will take their friendship and collaborations several steps further.
Florida Georgia Line, also called FGL, has had several chart topping hits on Billboard, including “Cruise,” “Dirt,” “H.O.L.Y.” “This Is How We Roll,” “Get Your Shine On,” “Stay,” “Round Here,” “May We All,” “Sun Daze” and more.
The Backstreet Boys’ Billboard chart toppers include “Quit Playing Games (With My Heart),” “Everybody (Backstreet s Back),” “Shape Of My Heart,” “Incomplete,” “Larger Than Life,” “More Than That,” Drowning” and more. The ‘90s boy band icons have experienced a resurgence of their popularity.
Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley of FGL state that they have been longtime fans of the Backstreet Boys, Hubbard said “It’s crazy to think how we grew up listening to this song(“Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)) and now are on stage performing together. It still gets me every time.” He went on to call them “master entertainers” and credited the band with helping FGL step up their game, including the addition of dance moves to their stadium shows.
Backstreet Boys' Brian Litrell added, “Being such fans of each other, this is a really fun way for us to put our mark on our songs. It’s going to be a fun night with seven guys who really admire one another. I’m looking forward to what comes of it!”
The two groups performed together at the 2017 Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM) and got the audience, including Nicole Kidman and Tim McGraw, up on their feel to dance.
The CMT Crossroads show featuring FGL and the Backstreet Boys will be an opportunity to experience a fresh take on the biggest hits of two popular acts. CMT Crossroads is an hour-long show that airs on CMT Television.
