Firefly announces 2019 lineup featuring Panic! At The Disco, Travis Scott and Post Malone

Firefly Music Festival announced its return for 2019 on Monday afternoon. The annual music festival will return to its forest-friendly home at The Woodlands in Dover, Delaware for its eighth year on June 21-23 next summer, which is noticeably one day shorter than the four days it has typically run over the last few years. Regardless of one less day of music and one less night of partying out in the campgrounds, Firefly still looks to be one of the premiere music festivals along the eastern U.S. with a billing of 2019 headliners that includes Panic! At The Disco, Travis Scott and Post Malone.

Other headline-worthy names included on next year’s Firefly poster includes Tyler, The Creator, Zedd, Kygo, Death Cab For Cutie, Vampire Weekend, DJ Snake and GRiZ. The rap and electronic-heavy lineup also features DJ duo Louis The Child, AWOLNATION, Alison Wonderland, Brockhampton and Gucci Mane. To show how far rock has fallen within the younger demographic festival landscape, Firefly only features two real rock acts towards the top of their daily lineups, and they would be Australian indie rock queen Courtney Barnett and Young The Giant.

One of Firefly’s greatest strengths over the last few years has been the depth in its mid and lower-level artists. Taking a full day away from next year’s event does shrink that pool of performers, but the 2019 lineup is still very impressive. Some of the notable names found on the middle and lower parts of the poster include X Ambassadors, Bob Moses, Dashboard Confessional, 2017 “Tiny Desk” contest winners Tank and The Bangas, Rubblebucket and Yoke Lore.

One of the big things to take away from Firefly’s lineup announcement on Monday, in addition to helping fans decide how they should spend their holiday money, is gauging which artists are making a point to hit the festival circuit in 2019. With two big east coast events having been announced before the end of the year in Hangout Festival and now Firefly is that it shows who else may or may not be performing at east coast events like GovBall or Bonnaroo.

Tickets ranging from General Admission to Super Duper VIP passes will go on sale starting this Friday, December 14 at 12 p.p EST, and can be purchased by clicking here. Until then, fans can click here to revisit last year's Firefly Festival.
