Announced today, Forecastle Festival has added additional acts to it's already exciting three-day line-up. The festival is a celebration of activism, arts, and of course, music. The newest artists include Sturgill Simpson, electro-dream pop duo Phantogram, indie favorite Spoon, and many others. The festival is celebrating 15 years, and will take place July 14-16 at the award-winning and majestic Waterfront Park, which features views of the Ohio River and the downtown Louisville skyline.
"The 15-year anniversary of Forecastle reflects the eclectic, innovative and stimulating spirit that has propelled us forward since our humble beginnings in Louisville’s Olmsted Parks,” said Forecastle Founder and Captain JK McKnight in a statement. “It’s a party with a purpose: a unique cross section of culture and activism, coupled with the most interesting, impactful artists you’ll find anywhere in the country.”
Sturgill Simpson has been nominated for Album of the Year at this year's Grammy Awards, for his latest release, A Sailor's Guide To Earth, and fellow Grammy nominee, Tycho, has been added to the line-up, whose album Epoch, debuted at the number one spot on the Billboard Dance & Electronic Charts, earning a nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album.
Spoon will release their ninth album, Hot Thoughts, on March 17 via Matador Records, and is their first album since their 2014 release of They Want My Soul.
