Former San Diego Gulls left winger Jordan Samuels-Thomas will be hosting a hockey camp in Carlsbad, California from June 25-28, 2018. The camp is for boys and girls aged five to 13, and will take place at Icetown Carlsbad from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Icetown Carlsbad is located at 2283 Cosmos Court. The cost of the camp is $399 per player.
Throughout the four days, players will receive two hours of daily ice time, off-ice training, off-ice skills work, goaltending instruction, and a question and answer period with coaches. They will also play games, street hockey, and receive a jersey and giveaways. For more information on how to register for the camp, please click here.
Samuels-Thomas was drafted in the seventh round, 203rd overall, by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2009 National Hockey League Entry Draft. He played 74 games with the Gulls from 2016-2018. Samuels-Thomas had 13 goals and 13 assists for 26 points with 35 penalty minutes and a +4. He most recently played with the Augsburg Panthers of the German League.
Also attending the camp will be Gulls forward Austin Ortega. This past season with the Gulls, Ortega had three goals and 13 assists for 16 points in 29 games. Other instructors include power skating coach and former figure skater Paula Difrancesco, and NCAA Division one coaches Josh Robinson and Matt Voity.
