Kacey Musgraves broke out thanks to the country music realty competition series “Nashville Star” in 2007, where she finished the competition in seventh place. Musgraves has just announced a 10-date concert tour and one of the 10 stops will bring her back home to Dallas’ Granada Theater on Oct. 1.
The 25 year old singer from Mineola, Texas, had released three independent albums in Texas before her appearance on “Nashville Star.” Musgraves finally signed with a label, Mercury Nashville, in 2012 and then she released her fourth album, Same Trailer Different Park, in 2013. It was the big release that helped everyone outside of her home state learn a little more about the talented young country musician.
While Musgraves has been around for a while, at least when it comes to local Texas performances, she is a newcomer to the rest of the world. Unless fans saw her competing on “Nashville Star,” there wasn’t much to help her stand out in the crowded country music scene. That all changed with Same Trailer Different Park.
Considered her debut album, since it was her first under an actual label, Musgraves is almost seen as an overnight sensation for many music fans around the world. She picked up a Grammy award in 2014 for Best Country Album, beating out Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean and Taylor Swift. It was a huge moment for the native of East Texas. She also won the New Artist of the Year at the CMA Awards in 2013.
Same Trailer Different Park debuted at number two on the country music charts and has had four songs individually rank on the singles charts. Her biggest hit was “Follow Your Arrow,” which hit 10th.
Dallas based fans of Kacey Musgraves should want to take advantage of this intimate concert at the Granada Theater. With the Grammy wins, and the four nominations she received, which was more than any other country female star at the Grammys, these intimate concerts won’t be as likely to happen in the future.
As a matter of fact, Musgraves’ 10-date tour will just be a small step as she will soon join none other than Katy Perry on her Prismatic World Tour when it hits North America. She will also tour with Willie Nelson and Alison Krauss at select appearances during their tour as well.
Tickets for the Kacey Musgraves concert at the Grenada Theater in Dallas went on sale on Aug. 15 and the show itself takes place on Oct. 1.
