There will be several great family-friendly 4th of July events in Kansas City to celebrate Independence Day in 2018. Kids and adults will have fun at the community events celebrating America’s birthday.

KC Riverfest will be a family-friendly celebration featuring the region’s best fireworks show, two stages of live music, kids activities, street performers, and more. The USAF Band of Mid-America’s Jazz Ensemble. The KC RiverFest Fireworks over the Missouri River will illuminate the skies over the Missouri River at 9:40 p.m. Admission tickets will be $5/person and will be free for children 12 and under.
Overland Park Star Spangled Spectacular

The Fourth of July will be celebrated with this free event, which will include live music by the Overland Park Civic Band and The Elders. Bring lawn chairs and relax with family and friends while enjoying the entertainment and fireworks display.
Fort Leavenworth Salute to the Union and 4th of July Celebration

The Fort Leavenworth Salute to the Union will offer family-friendly activities, including live entertainment by The Kicks, games, bounce houses, and more. The Kansas State University Parachute team will give a parachute demonstration. The fireworks show will begin at about 9:15 p.m. Bring lawn chairs and blankets for the family to sit on while enjoying the entertainment and fireworks. This event will be free and open to the public.
Liberty 4th Fest

Liberty 4th Fest will offer an evening of family-friendly activities, including DJ music, live music by Lost Wax, fishing in stocked ponds, face painting, balloon animals, inflatables, lawn games, and more. The fireworks display will light the skies at 10 p.m.
Parkville July 4th Celebration 2017

Parkville will celebrate America’s birthday with an old-fashioned Independence Day. The community parade, which will start at 63rd St. & Hwy 9 and will end on Main Street, will begin at 10 a.m. The Fun Time Show Carnival will run from 11 a.m. – 10 a.m. The day will also include a pancake breakfast at the American Legion ($7/person). There will be a performance by the Parkville Symphonic Bank at Park University’s Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel at 8:45 p.m. The fireworks show at Grigsby Field will start at 9:45 p.m.
4th of July in Leawood

The City of Leawood will hold a community event featuring family-friendly activities and entertainment, including games, face painting, roving entertainment, and live music by HotHouse. A fireworks show will begin at 9:45 p.m. Admission will be free. All Access Ride/Activity Bands for children aged 14 and under will be $5.
