St. Patrick’s Day will be celebrated with family-friendly events in Raleigh, Fayetteville, and Durham, NC. The Raleigh St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival will feature Irish music and fun for the entire family in 2018.
Raleigh St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The 36th Raleigh St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be a festive event to delight children and adults. Take the family to enjoy the marching bands, music, Irish step dancing, bagpipers, colorful characters, community organizations, and more. The parade will step off at Lane Street and Salisbury Street and will last about an hour and a half.
Raleigh St. Patrick’s Day Festival

The St. Patrick’s Day Festival will be held on the same day as the parade. There will be entertainment, including Irish music and dancing, on the courthouse steps and at the Shamrock ‘n Roll Stage at the City Plaza. Admission to the festival will be free.
St. Patrick’s Day Pot of Gold Search

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by searching for hidden prizes and snacks along the trails of Lake Rim Park on the evening before St. Patrick’s Day. Kids and adults will have fun searching for the leprechaun’s pot of gold. This event will be free but call 913-433-1018 to register in advance.
St. Patrick’s Day Pub Run/Walk

Fleet Feet Sports is holding their 2nd annual St. Patrick’s Day Pub/Walk. The event will be family-friendly and will be open to everyone in the community, including kids, children in strollers, and pets. Participants will have the option of purchasing a bracelet for $12, which will cover the cost of three beers. Otherwise, it will be free to participate.

In Search of the Leprechaun’s Pot of Gold

According to legend, the mischievous leprechauns have been playing tricks at Yates Mill. Join in the fun, listening to Irish music and reading leprechaun stories. Be sure to wear green to build a leprechaun trap to catch the clever creatures. Registration will be required. The fee will be $1/person. This event is for children 6 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
