The season of Thanksgiving is traditionally a time for homecomings, reunions and time to treasure with family and friends. There will be free family-friendly events to enjoy in Nashville, Tennessee in 2017. Check out all the free holiday events being held in Nashville in this year.  

Christmas Lights and Outdoor Nativity
Nov. 11-Dec. 31 @ 4 p.m.
Gaylord Opryland Resort, 2800 Opryland Dr., Nashville, TN 37214

Gaylord Opryland Resort will be festively decorated and aglow with over three million lights through the resort. The Outdoor Nativity will portray the birth of Jesus Christ through a display and audio rendition at the Magnolia Lawn. While there will be fees for many of entertainment events at Gaylord, there will be no charge to walk through the resort and view the decorations and the Nativity.

VA Veteran’s Day Parade

The annual Veteran’s Day event will bring the parade to Veteran’s who are not able to attend other community parades. The parade themed will be “A Grateful Nation Salutes Gulf War Veterans. The patriotic event will be free and open to the public.

Christmas on the Cumberland

The City of Clarksville will kick off the festive holiday season with a grand opening ceremony illuminating the city with over one million lights.  It will be free to view the Christmas lights and walk through the decorated park.

Night of the Child Nativity Collection

The Night of the Child Nativity Exhibit will display over 130 international nativity scenes representing the birth of Jesus Christ. The Christian Art Museum will tell Biblical stories through sculptures, art, and paintings. There is no admission fee, they do accept donations ($5 suggested donation).

2nd Annual Handmade Nashville Holiday Market

Shop for handmade gift items at the holiday market on Small Business Saturday. Admission will be free.

Nashville Flea Market at the Fairgrounds

The Nashville Flea Market is held the last weekend of every month. The market in Nashville is considered one of the top ten in the U.S., attracting a huge number of vendors and dealers selling a variety of wares. Admission will be free but there is a $5 fee for parking.

11th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in Hendersonville

Hendersonville will present a small-town, traditional Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony featuring musical entertainment, fun, and activities for the family. Children will enjoy meeting Santa Claus, the bouncy house, and Sugar Creek Carriage Rides.

The Piedmont Natural Gas Nashville Christmas Parade Presented by Tootsies will be a festive event for the entire family. The parade will feature musical entertainment, celebrity appearances, elaborate floats, and more.

The 10th Annual Spring Hill Christmas Parade will be presented by Kiwanis of Spring Hill & Thompson’s Station.

Belle Meade Plantation

Belle Meade Plantation will hold the Candlelight Open House, which will be free and open to the public, on Nov. 9 from 5-8 p.m. The historic mansion will be festively decorated for the holidays through the season. Tours will be free for children 5 and under, while regular admission will apply for adults and older children.

Celebrate the holiday season with an evening at the Mansion at Fontanel. There will be over 40 decorated Christmas trees, Dickens Christmas carolers, and displays from country music superstars. There will be special fun activities for kids, so the entire family can enjoy the visit to the historic mansion.  Children ages 10 & under will be admitted free. Tickets for adults will be $18-$25.
