Independence Day will be celebrated in Houston, Texas with patriotic fireworks, music, community events, and more in 2017. Here are some free events for the family to enjoy on the 4th of July.

4th of July Weekend at CityCentre
July 1-4 @ 7 p.m.
CityCentre, 800 W. Sam Houston Parkway North, Houston, TX 77024

The Houston CityCentre will present live music and will be free to attend. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Parking in CityCentre garages will be $10.  The 15-minute fireworks spectacular will be on July 4 at 9:30 p.m.

Houston Symphony: Star Spangled Salute
July 3 @ 8 p.m.(gates open at 6:30 p.m.)

Celebrate America’s birthday with this free Independence Eve spectacular of patriotic music conducted by Steven Reineke. The grand finale will be Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture,” with the booming cannons on the hill. Parking on-site will be $10.

Fourth of July Snow & Ice Celebration
July 4 @ 5 p.m.
Memorial City Mall, 303 Memorial City Way, Houston, TX 77024

Houstonians can cool off at the event on the Fourth of July. There will be 20,000 pounds of snow, ice sculpture demonstrations, and frozen treats. Families can enjoy playing in the snow flurries during this free, outdoor, summer event.

2-Day Independence Celebration
July 3-4 @ 4 p.m.
Bicentennial Park Baytown, 1001 Market St., Baytown, TX 77520

The free festival will offer two days of family fun, music, and patriotic merriment. There will be live music by Mambo Jazz Kings, Grand Funk Railroad and country music star Josh Turner.

A Star-Spangled Salute
July 4 @ 8:30 p.m.
Miller Outdoor Theatre, 6000 Hermann Park Dr., Houston, TX 77030

Spend an evening with toe-tapping American music directed by Principal Pops Conductor Michael Krajewski and the Houston Symphony. The dramatic finale will be the “1812 Overture,” complete with the coming cannons. The celebration will conclude with fireworks spectacular.

Pasadena 4th Fest
July 4 @ 4 p.m.
Pasadena Convention Center and Fairgrounds, Pasadena, TX 77503

Pasadena 4th Fest will offer family fun, a car show, USMC Toys for Tots BBQ Cook-off, games, prizes, vendors, and entertainment.

Bellaire Fourth of July Celebration
July 4 @ 9:30 a.m.

The annual 4th of July Parade and Festival will be on July 4. The parade will step off at 9:30 a.m., followed by the community festival from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
